Most stage light damage happens between shows, not during them. A moving head that survives ten hours of operation can be killed by one careless stack against a truss cart. For rental companies and touring crews, the fix is a repeatable transport routine, and the center of it is the transport stage lighting flight case. Remove anything that hangs off the fixture: safety bonds, clamps, and gobo holders or rotating gobo boxes that are not locked. Put them in a clearly labeled hardware pouch inside the case or in the truck. Keep the heaviest cases on the floor and close to the axle, with lighter cases above. Do not stack small cases on top of large cases unless the lid of the bottom case is rated for that load. If the truck floor has ridges or guide tracks, place a sheet of rubber mat or plywood under the bottom layer to distribute the load. Strap the stack as one block: two vertical straps around the stack and one loop strap holding the stack against the front wall. Mark every case with the fixture model, the accessories inside, and the loading orientation. Use laminated labels or embossed tags, because marker fades on scratched plastic. Inspection at the venue load-in
