15 Years in Stage Lighting: Our Story & Milestones

We started in 2012 as a stage lighting manufacturer in Guangzhou. This is our story, production process, and milestones.

We opened our doors in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, with a simple intention: build fixtures that survive real tours and real rental cycles. Fifteen years later, we are still a stage lighting manufacturer since 2012, and the company has grown from a handful of people to a team of 11-50, from one product range to 13 categories and more than 150 models. Our founder is Ms. Xie Dongmei, and she set the standard for the whole team: listen to the customer first, then turn the drawings into something that can be manufactured consistently.

Being a source factory has shaped how we work. We do not buy fixtures from other workshops and put our label on them. We run SMT PCB lines, optical alignment stations, DMX test equipment, high-temperature aging chambers, and IP waterproof testing stations across five workshops. That level of control matters for rentals, installations, and OEM projects because a small production deviation can create a tour failure or an integration problem.

What It Means to Be a Stage Lighting Manufacturer Since 2012

People ask us why we describe ourselves that way. The answer is that starting in 2012 gives us a clear timeline but no special credit. The work that mattered was learning how to ship reliable products before our reputation existed. Our earliest clients cared about consistency, and we used feedback from those shipments to refine our test procedures.

Today, that experience shows in how we handle a new request. When a client asks for a custom color or a different DMX protocol, we do not promise it on a phone call. We first confirm whether the change can be done in house, then make a pre-production sample, and only move to batch production after the client approves it. That pattern, sample first and inspect before shipment, applies to every order.

The Production Process Behind Every Shipment

Most people outside the industry assume that a moving head arrives from the factory already tested. In our experience, testing is not a single event. It happens at specific stages, and skipping any of them increases the chance of a field failure. Our five workshops are organized around that sequence.

Stage What we check Why it matters
SMT placement Solder joints, component orientation, board cleanliness Most intermittent failures start with a bad board
Optical alignment Beam focus, lens centering, color mixing Riggers notice a fixture whose beam does not match the others
DMX protocol Signal response, channel mapping, RDM functions Fixtures must work with any standard console at the venue
Aging and burn-in High-temperature operation, stability over time Reveals weak solder joints and failing components early
IP waterproof testing Water spray and dust ingress for outdoor IP65 models Outdoor installations fail when a rating is only on paper
Final inspection Cosmetics, packaging, manual functions The client should receive exactly what was approved

We do this on every production line, not only on custom projects. If you want to see the workstations without a sales pitch, our factory tour page shows the SMT lines, aging chambers, and test stations in the order they are used.

Milestones That Shaped Our Path as a Stage Lighting Manufacturer Since 2012

The useful milestones are not only the years on a chart. They are the operational decisions that changed how we serve clients.

  • 2012: Company founded in Guangzhou Baiyun District with a focus on reliable moving heads and LED fixtures.
  • 2015: Malaysia branch opened to support Southeast Asia with local sales, installation back-up, and training.
  • 2018: Mexico branch opened to cover the Americas and provide a closer bridge for time zones and freight follow-up.
  • Alibaba Gold Supplier status has been maintained since 2008, which gave us an early foundation for export trust.
  • CE (EMC and LVD) and RoHS certifications cover our standard products, and you can review them on our certifications page.
  • Today our catalogue includes 13 categories and more than 150 models, spanning beam and LED moving heads, pars, effects, strobes, outdoor IP65 fixtures, follow spots, consoles, smoke and other stage machines, battery lights, and film and TV lights.

Those milestones have a common thread: each one was a response to a request from a client, not a marketing idea. The Malaysia branch was created to serve Southeast Asia directly. The Mexico branch was created for the Americas. The product range grew because rental companies and integrators kept asking for the same categories: moving heads, pars, effects, strobes, consoles, and machines for smoke, bubble, snow, and flame.

Working With Us: OEM, ODM, and Project Support

Manufacturing is only half of our job. Because we sit in the factory, we can react to the rest of the project as well.

  • OEM and ODM: custom colors, DMX protocols, branded packaging, and new fixture designs.
  • Pre-production sample confirmation and final inspection on every order.
  • Stage scheme design, effect rendering, and bid design for tenders.
  • Installation and debugging support, technical training, and rental supply.
  • Project contracting for complete setups.

Whether you run a rental company or an integration business, the practical question is the same: can the factory handle a custom spec and still deliver on schedule? Our answer is that we start with a sample, confirm it with you, and then build. The product catalogue on our website is a good starting point because it shows the base platforms we can adapt for your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide OEM and ODM services?

Yes. We offer custom colors, DMX protocols, branded packaging, and new designs. Every OEM and ODM order follows the same path: pre-production sample, client confirmation, batch production, and final inspection before shipment.

What certifications do your fixtures have?

Our products carry CE in both EMC and LVD, plus RoHS certification. You can review the certificates on our certifications page and ask for them during the ordering process.

Can you support a rental company or a touring production?

Yes. We support rentals with technical training, installation and debugging, and stage scheme design. We also manufacture battery lights, effect machines, and follow spots that are commonly used in rental environments.

How does a project start with YC Light?

Send us your venue size, application, and control format. We use that information for stage scheme design and effect rendering if you need it. From there we help you select fixtures from the catalogue or discuss a custom OEM design. No two projects start the same, but they all start with a conversation.

Fifteen years in this industry has taught us that lighting contracts are won on trust as much as on lumens. We build our fixtures to keep that trust from the first sample to the last box. If you are planning a project, checking a new supplier, or need support with a tender, contact our team and we will treat your request like the first order we ever received.
